Minnesota

There are currently no laws that provide parents in Minnesota with private school choice freedom.

You can become an advocate and help to bring school choice to Minnesota. A school choice program could provide hope and educational opportunities to thousands of families throughout the state.

Why does Minnesota need school choice? Consider this:

Approximately 27 percent of Minnesota children live in poverty, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.

Minnesota has a long way to go toward ensuring that all students can read at proficient levels.

  • 63 percent of Minnesota students in 4th grade are not ranked “proficient” in reading
  • 64 percent of Minnesota student in 8th grade are not ranked “proficient” in reading

Minnesota has a long way to go toward improving student math performance.

  • 50 percent of Minnesota students in 4th grade are not ranked “proficient” in math
