About Advocates for School Choice

Advocates for School Choice is the sister organization of the Alliance for School Choice. Advocates for School Choice is a 501(c)(4) organization that fulfills the essential legislative dimension of the mission that is shared by both organizations. Advocates focuses exclusively on generating support for and securing passage of specific school choice legislation.

Throughout the year, Advocates for School Choice carefully assesses the legislative prospects in each state, determines what resources are necessary to enact school choice legislation, and deploys resources as necessary.

Presidential Contenders Tell ASC Where They Stand On School Choice

Five presidential contenders—including the leading candidates for the Republican nomination—have voiced their support for school choice programs. Advocates for School Choice received five responses to its Presidential Candidate School Choice Issue Questionnaire, from candidates Rudolph W. Giuliani (R-NY), Mike Gravel (D-AK), Mike Huckabee (R-AR), John McCain (R-AZ), and Mitt Romney (R-MA). Candidates for the Democratic and Republican nomination for president were contacted on three or more occasions, via mail, e-mail, fax and telephone, in an attempt to secure responses.
